Silke Burmeister is a journalist and producer based in Los Angeles, working for major German television outlets and multimedia platforms.

Since earning my degree in broadcast journalism, I’ve worked across various areas of the entertainment industry, developing a broad set of production and storytelling skills. My journey has taken me from bustling TV studios and film sets to glamorous Hollywood red carpets and just about everywhere in between!

For the past 15 years, I’ve collaborated with Germany’s largest television networks and production companies, including Pro7, ZDF, RTL, SAT.1, VOX, Arte, Constantin Entertainment, Redseven, Florida TV and ITV Studios.

I’ve had the pleasure of working on major hit shows like Netflix’s Kaulitz & Kaulitz and Germany’s Next Topmodel by Heidi Klum.

Each year, I’m hired by Pro7 to join their Oscars team, reporting live from the Academy Awards for German-speaking audiences tuning in from around the world. I regularly cover film premieres, press junkets, and high-profile events, interviewing cast members and filmmakers to create engaging segments and articles that spotlight upcoming U.S. releases for TV and digital platforms.

Beyond entertainment, I’ve created and directed docuseries on German-speaking expats in the U.S., prime-time reality shows, including Very Good for Hollywood (Puls 4), and a variety of captivating shorts that shine a light on cutting-edge innovations, fascinating professions, and the unique spirit of American cities. Each project reflects my passion for authentic storytelling and visually compelling narratives, all broadcast on European television.

Born in Germany and raised in Niger, West Africa, I’m fluent in English, French, and German - and feel lucky to be shaped by the diverse cultures and experiences that continue to influence my life.
